This cold plunge filter system uses an USA-Made magnetic water pump (Danner) that is extremely reliable. The pump is 1,200gph and it works in-junction with a 2.5” x 10” standard pleated filter canister and thanks to the advanced pre-filtration you only have to clean the filter cartridge once a month or even less frequently.
How does the chest freezer cold plunge filter system work?
Our cold plunge filtration system is submersible which means you can place it inside your cold plunge tub, leave it and it’ll do the cleaning for you.
The pre-filter, identifiable by its rectangular mesh situated at the upper inlet of the water pump, serves a crucial role in maintaining your system’s efficiency. By intercepting larger debris, including hair and skin flakes, it proactively ensures:
- The pump’s impeller operates at optimal efficiency, as it prevents hair and other particles from reaching and tangling around it.
- The pleated filter within the primary filter canister remains cleaner for longer durations, safeguarding against potential drops in water flow due to a saturated filter cartridge.
Water gets pulled through this “pre filter” into the actual filter canister through which it gets further “polished” resulting in crystal clear water.
When you combine this filtration system with a standard sanitation SPA system such as an ozone generator or a UV light (read this article to know the differences) then, we can guarantee you effortlessly clean water for months on end.
What sort of maintenance is it expected?
You should slip-out the pre-filter out once a week and give it a quick rinse. The sleek and flat surface design allows for quick and efficient washing. The actual filter cartridge should be change once every 1 or 2 months depending on usage. Thanks to the transparent filter canister you can see through and check for impurities.
